Ben Bruce kicks against Lauretta Onochie’s appointment as INEC REC




Former Senator Ben Murray-Bruce of Bayelsa State has kicked in opposition to the appointment of an aide of President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, as a Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC).


Buhari had within the final quarter of 2020 appointed Onochie as an INEC Commissioner.

Onochie’s appointment was greeted with heavy criticisms as many stated a partisan particular person like her shouldn’t be an electoral umpire.

On Wednesday, Onochie was screened for the brand new job on the Senate as requested by President Buhari.

However Senator Murray-Bruce claimed her appointment would undermine the electoral fee.
