Bauchi: We paid N72m ransom to bandits in one year – Burra communities allege

Burra neighborhood in Ningi Native Authorities Space of Bauchi State has alleged that over N72 million was paid as ransom to bandits to safe launch of lots of their kidnapped kinsmen.

This was revealed by the Chairman, Ningi LGA, Mamuda Hassan Tabla, whereas talking with journalists in Bauchi, including that there was an inflow of strangers from Zamfara State within the space whose presence has resulted in rising kidnap of the folks.

The council boss alleged that when anybody will get kidnapped within the affected communities, they used to take ransom to Zamfara State.

He stated that members of the communities had been afraid of the actions of bandits, who he alleged had taken over folks’s farms, a improvement that had put them in abject poverty as they paid ransom they usually nonetheless misplaced their farms.

“The governor deployed safety personnel to guard the folks and we recruited hunters and vigilantes as a part of efforts to guard the lives and properties of our residents which diminished the actions of bandits in our space,” the chairman stated.

He counseled Governor Mohammed for his immediate response on points regarding the safety and wellbeing of the society, “particularly the laudable developmental tasks which have direct bearing on the lives of individuals being executed by his authorities”.

Based on Tabla, such tasks, together with building of housing items, mega faculty in Ningi and hospitals and provision of water, amongst others, had been scattered throughout all of the nooks and crannies of Ningi Native Authorities Space.
