Bandits killed Ahmed Gulak – Police say amid claims of IPOB’s involvement




The Imo State Police Command has confirmed that Ahmed Gulak, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Occasion (PDP) was killed by bandits.

SP Bala Elkana, the Police Public Relations Officer, mentioned Gulak was killed by the armed bandits who intercepted his automobile on his method to the airport on Sunday.

Elkana, in a press release, disclosed that the previous adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari left his lodge room with out informing any safety agent of his motion.

In accordance with Elkana: “On the 30/5/2021, about 07:20hrs, armed bandits intercepted and attacked a Toyota Camry cab carrying Ahmed Gulak and two others who had been on their method to Sam Mbakwe Airport to catch a flight.

“Ahmed Gulak left his room at Protea Lodge with out informing the Police nor sister companies in view of the delicate safety scenario within the South East and Imo specifically.

“He left with none safety escorts and whereas the cab driver took irregular path to the airport, six armed bandits who rode in a Toyota Sienna intercepted, recognized and shot at Ahmed Gulak at round Umueze Obiangwu in Ngor-Okpala Native Authorities Space near the Airport.

“CP Abutu Yaro fdc has directed a discreet investigation into the matter as Tactical and Particular forces have been deployed to cordon off the realm and arrest perpetrators.”

Following Gulak’s dying, the Nigerian intelligence group accused the Indigenous Folks of Biafra (IPOB) of being chargeable for the killing.

Nevertheless, the group refuted the allegation.
