Bandits attack: Nigeria receives first batch of Super Tucano




Nigeria on Thursday obtained the primary batch of A-29 Tremendous Tucano plane.


The plane arrived in Kano, on Thursday 22 July 2021.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, NAF Director of Public Relations and Data confirmed the arrival of the fighter plane in an announcement.

“Available to obtain the Tucano plane have been the Hon. Minister of Defence, Main Common Bashir Magashi (Rtd), Chief of Military Workers, Lieutenant Common Faruk Yahaya and Chief of Air Workers, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao”, he mentioned.

The armed turboprops will conduct strikes in opposition to Boko Haram, Islamic State West Africa Province and bandits in North-East and North-West areas.

Nigeria paid $462million for twelve Tucanos and different weapons in 2018.

This cost coated Ahead Trying Infrared (FLIR) methods for six of them.

The plane have Paveway II guided bombs, laser-guided rockets, 12.7 mm ammunition, unguided bombs and infrared sensors.
