ASUU faults Makinde for forcing LAUTECH VC to step aside




The Educational Employees Union of Universities (ASUU) Ladoke Akintola College of Know-how (LAUTECH) chapter has faulted the choice of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to pressure the Vice Chancellor of the College, Professor Olufisayo Ologunde to step apart.


ASUU described the choice as mistaken.

Our correspondent gathered that Makinde had earlier requested the VC to step apart.

However, ASUU whereas reacting, stated that it acquired the information with shock.

The Union in an announcement made obtainable to DAILY POST via the ASUU Chairman, Dr Biodun Olaniran and Secretary, Dr Toyin Abegunrin, described the suspension of the VC as a violation of the legal guidelines of the college.

“That if there’s any perceived misdemeanour on the a part of any officer appointed by the regulation within the college, due course of based on the regulation should be adopted to deal with such.

“That the union acknowledges the ability of the customer to rent and hearth on one half and that such energy is premised on the advice of the governing council based on the extant legal guidelines;

“That as at right this moment, the governing council has not been correctly constituted according to the regulation of the College.

“Our Union, due to this fact, requests that, to take care of industrial concord on campus and the continued restoration of the picture of the College, the above resolutions needs to be thought-about with the mandatory urgency.”
