The Akwa Ibom State College Workers Unions, beneath the aegis of Joint Motion Committee, has known as off its seven weeks industrial motion.
The 4 labour unions within the college comprising the Tutorial Workers of Universities (ASUU), Senior Workers Affiliation of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), the Nationwide Affiliation of Technologists (NAAT), the Non-Tutorial Workers Union of Academic and Related Establishments (NASU) all joined the strike.
The unions launched into the strike which commenced on April 19, 2021, over the 25% unpaid wage arrears, unpaid depart allowance, and cost of salaries on a share foundation.

“In October 2021, the Akwa Ibom State authorities shall pay the 2020 depart grant to workers of the Akwa Ibom State College together with 100% October 2021 wage.
“In November 2021, the Akwa Ibom State authorities shall pay to workers of AKSU the final tranche of 25% wage arrears of 2020 for the remaining two months together with 100% of November 2021 wage.
“In December 2021 the Akwa Ibom State authorities shall pay to the workers of AKSU 25percentarrears for the months of March and April 2021 together with 100% of December 2021 Wage.”
