Adamawa man stabs his friend to death after the deceased demanded for the N1500 he owed him

A center age man, Aliyu Hammanseyo, of Mubi North Native Authorities Space, Adamawa State has been remanded in jail custody for allegedly stabbing his good friend, Bilham Babangida, to demise over N1, 500.

The Chief Justice of the Peace Court docket I sitting in Yola, ordered the remand of the defendant after he was arraigned earlier than the court docket on Monday, June 20 for the alleged offence which contravened part part 191 of the Penal Code regulation.

Aliyu of Sabon Layi Space in Mubi North LGA, admitted stabbing the deceased with a knife on the chest resulting in his demise on June 7.

The defendant allegedly owed the deceased the mentioned amount of cash, and when the deceased observed that he had cash, he demanded a refund of his N1,500. Eyewitnesses say Aliyu refused to refund the cash regardless of a number of pleas from the deceased. It was on account of his refusal that the sufferer who was in possession of a knife, forcefully put his fingers within the defendant’s pocket with a view to take out his cash. Aliyu was mentioned to have dispossessed Bilham of his knife and he finally used it in opposition to him by stabbing him within the chest to demise as confirmed by the Medical Physician on the Mubi Normal Hospital.

Earlier, when arraigned earlier than the Court docket by the Prosecutor, ASP Francis Audu, Aliyu pleaded responsible after which the prosecutor, urged the Court docket to adjourn the matter.

ASP Francis, said that the offense is capital in nature and that the police must be given time to finish the investigation and transmit the case file to DPP for authorized recommendation.

The court docket presided over by Chief Justice of the Peace Muhammed Abubakar, adjourned the case to July 14 and ordered that Aliyu be remanded in lawful custody until the subsequent listening to.
