80-Year-Old Woman, Granddaughter, Others Arrested With 192kg Cocaine, Heroin, Others




Operatives of the Nationwide Drug Regulation Enforcement Company, (NDLEA), have arrested an 80-year-old girl, her 19-year-old granddaughter and two different girls for promoting assorted illicit medication like cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, tramadol, swinol, and skuchies.


NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a press release on Wednesday, revealed that the suspects have been arrested following intelligence-based raids and follow-up operations on their areas.

He added that over 192kilogrammes of cocaine and different psychoactive substances have been recovered from the suspects whereas the octogenarian, her granddaughter, and two different girls; Tessy Matthew and Blessing Adesida have been arrested.


The assertion learn, “The grandma and her granddaughter have been arrested at 6:30am on Sunday at Ayeyemi Avenue, Akure south native authorities space. Throughout the early morning raid, the next have been recovered from them: Skuchies- 149kg, cocaine-11grammes, methamphetamine-17grammes, heroin-3grammes, hashish sativa- 4.914kg, swinol -8grammes and tramadol -49grammes. Additionally recovered from them have been two deep freezers and a TVS bike.

“On the identical date, at about 1:30pm, a raid carried out at Charge Lodge, Care Avenue, in Akure South LGA led to the arrest of 25-year-old Tessy Mathew from whom 33kilogrammes of skuchies have been recovered. Following her preliminary interrogation, a follow-up operation was instantly carried out, resulting in the arrest of 25-year-old Blessing Adesida in Oshinle space of Akure South LGA.


“Recovered from her embody: skuchies-3kg and cannabis-7grammes. In accordance with the states appearing Commander of the Company, Callys Alumona, different members of the 2 drug cartels have been on  a watch-list and efforts to arrest them are ongoing.
