The federal authorities says 476 web sites have been created to publish faux information about President Muhammadu Buhari and his authorities.
Info Minister, Lai Mohammed, spoke on Monday in Abuja when he obtained officers of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
He regretted that the most recent faux publication was on the Nigerian chief’s psychological standing.
“Not too long ago, we unveiled nearly 476 publication websites which are devoted to day by day participating in churning out faux information to struggle the federal government.”
Mohammed mentioned the platforms claimed when Buhari was within the UK the final time, he was suggested to step down as a result of he couldn’t recognise members of the family.
The minister added that traducers know that persons are gullible and can make the faux information go viral.
He warned that unverified data was taking a brand new dimension and threatening the existence of the nation.
Mohammed urged the NIPR to play its function and actively take part within the struggle towards faux information.
