16-yr-old girl arrested for stealing three-day-old baby from hospital

Police in Masindi, Uganda, has arrested a 16-year-old woman for allegedly stealing a three-day-old child woman from the district hospital.

The suspect, a resident of Nyabyeya village in Budongo sub-county in Masindi district, posed as an attendant on the maternal ward in Masindi Basic Hospital.

She then approached a brand new mum named Sarah Nanjinga, 25, and satisfied her handy over her child so she will relieve her of the kid whereas she rests.

Nanjinga, who had simply delivered her child by C-section on the hospital on April 28, 2022, handed over the toddler to the stranger.

The suspect later disappeared with the newborn, prompting Nanjinga to report the case to Masindi Central Police station.
